Milestone Helps to Light Festival’s Blues Fuse

For four days at the beginning of every August, downtown Kitchener is transformed into a hotbed of soulful sounds, heady harmonies and rocking riffs that are the envy of outdoor music festivals everywhere. The Kitchener Blues Festival is coveted by internationally acclaimed artists who are eager to play at the largest free blues festival in Canada. Featuring more than 60 bands on 7 stages over 4 days, this year’s August 8 – 11 Kitchener Blues Festival (KBF) was the most successful yet in the event’s 13-year history.

Branding the Blues

Milestone sponsored the Kitchener Blues Festival for the first time in 2011. The task that year was to rebrand the festival’s look and feel, rolling it out across all of their marketing materials. This year, as the sole Diamond Sponsor of the event, Milestone built on their past work, evolving the design and adding the catchy “Light Your Blues Fuse” theme.

Working closely with KBF organizers, Milestone created materials to help the event present an enticing, cohesive face to the public. Their creative work spanned multi-media/TV, print, advertising, transit/outdoor, apparel and more.

A Natural Fit

Supporting the Kitchener Blues Festival just makes sense for Milestone. Terry Polyak, Milestone founder and creative director, is an avid musician who is passionate about the concept of making live music more accessible. The Milestone team is also enthusiastic about supporting causes that encourage community building and invigoration. Since KBF relies heavily on volunteers and sponsors to continue offering free admission to the event, Milestone is thrilled to contribute their design and marketing expertise to ensure that this world-class musical festival has the branding to match its legendary reputation.
